I sat down with (DigitalPebble) to talk about a topic, that is quite rare in the modern AI/Data/Cloud infrastructure space: greenops. It sits on the side of the “ops” (operations) coin vs FinOps.
FinOps optimizes technology for business value; GreenOps optimizes it for environmental impact.
In this episode we discussed SPRUCE — Scalable Platform for Reporting Usage and Cloud Emissions. From technology stand point it uses Spark for scalable processing of the report files, that are typically in Parquet format.
